Potential Drug Delivery Pathways for Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease

چکیده
Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) has been one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative disorders that majorly affect patients older than 65 years old. The treatment disease costs over 1% global GDP [1], yet not many new drugs have developed which can effectively treat AD based on its pathological characteristics. major challenge in treating brain such as is Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) refrains drug molecules from entering brain. Through reviewing multiple papers PubMed Central®(PMC), an archive biomedical and life sciences journal literature at U.S. National Institutes Health’s Library Medicine (NIH/NLM), three promising delivery pathways investigated regarding their capabilities effectivenesses transporting into brain, are inorganic nanoparticles, multifunctional liposomes, transdermal system. In this paper, brief introductions each pathway were offered, specific experiment supported method was presented. advantages, well drawbacks type pathway, also discussed paper.

متن کاملDrug delivery systems for potential treatment of intracellular bacterial infections.
Despite the advent of a considerable number of new antibiotics, treatment of intracellular pathogens still represents a major pharmaceutical challenge. The antibiotic concentration in those specialized niches are often subtherapeutic, for which high doses of antibiotics must often be used. This is not only costly but may also increase localized or systemic side effects. There is therefore an ur...
متن کاملAlzheimers Disease: Review of Emerging Treatment Role for Intravenous Immunoglobulins
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common neurodegenerative disorder. Currently available therapies are symptomatic but do not alter underlying disease progression. Immunotherapeutic approaches such as anti Aβ peptide active vaccination trials have had limited success to date. Intravenous immunoblobulin (IVIg) is widely used in immune-mediated neurological disorders such myasthenia gravis and...
متن کاملFormulation and In-vitro Evaluation of Tretinoin Microemulsion as a Potential Carrier for Dermal Drug Delivery
In this study, tretinoin microemulsion has been formulated based on phase diagram studies by changing the amounts and proportions of inactive ingredients, such as surfactants, co-surfactants and oils. The effects of these variables have been determined on microemulsion formation, particle size of the dispersed phase and release profile of tretinoin from microemulsion through dialysis membrane. ...
